This year’s Making Connections 5km walk or run will be held on 3rd June 2026; just choose whether you want to walk or run.
Walkers start at 7:00 pm, and runners start at 7:15 pm. Every adult participant gets a participant number & medal. U18s run for free, and their places can be selected when you sign up.

Your Making Connections 5km route will begin in Paternoster Square.
Your route will start by going past St Paul’s Cathedral and then across Blackfriars Bridge, where you will enjoy world-famous views of Tower Bridge, The Shard of London, and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
You will then go over Southwark Bridge and join the Thames Path, where you will head towards the Tower of London and Tower Bridge via some of London’s most unknown hidden paths.
You will then return through the City, back over Southwark Bridge to the lively Bankside area, on the south side of the River Thames.
After another 500m, you will cross the Millennium Bridge and once again take in the views of St Paul’s Cathedral as you head towards the finish line in Paternoster Square, completing a truly iconic route!
No previous experience is needed for a run like this. The route is 5km, relatively flat, and you can walk or run. The Making Connections 5km is a great way to get you into the summer spirit, and if you want any more information, please do contact our events team on 0333 4441189 or via info@tfaltd.co.uk. We kindly ask all participants taking part in the Making Connections 5km to follow this code of conduct during races and related gatherings hosted by TFA Events.
TFA Events reserves the right to make decisions regarding acceptable and unacceptable behaviour at its sole discretion.
Expected Behaviour
Obey the instructions of all TFA employees and contractors, marshalls, course officials, security team members and volunteers associated with the event.
Show respect and consideration to others at all times. Please remember this is a fun event and NOT A RACE.
Be inclusive and refrain from any behaviour or language that is discriminatory, harassing, or demeaning.
Stay aware of your surroundings and look out for fellow participants. If you encounter or observe a hazardous situation or someone in distress, notify a race marshal immediately.
Prohibited Behaviour
The following actions will not be tolerated:
Any form of intimidation, harassment, abuse, discrimination, or offensive conduct.
Harassment, including but not limited to: offensive comments based on gender, age, race, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.
Use of nudity, deliberate intimidation, stalking, or unwanted following.
Harassing photography or recording.
Disrupting event proceedings.
Unwanted physical contact or unwelcome sexual advances.
Wearing inappropriate or provocative clothing that could offend others or is unsuitable for a sporting event.
Acts of physical, verbal, or written aggression, including threats, intimidation, stalking, or disruptive behaviour that causes distress or danger to others.
Possession of weapons or items that could harm others.
Lewd, offensive, or profane language, gestures, or materials, including any form of hate speech.
Possession or use of illegal substances. TFA Events has a zero-tolerance policy on illegal drug use at any of its events.
Participating in activities that disturb the peace, break the law, or involve offensive behaviour.
Ignoring event or venue rules as communicated by the Race Director or staff.
Consuming alcohol before or during the event. Participants who are visibly under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted to take part.
Consequences for Violating the Code of Conduct
Violations of this code will not be tolerated.
Anyone asked to stop engaging in prohibited behaviour must comply immediately.
TFA Events and its event partners may take appropriate action in response to violations by asking you to leave the event immediately. temporary or permanent bans from future events or actions, which may lead to further action from public authorities.
How to Report Unacceptable Behaviour
If you experience or witness unacceptable behaviour, or if you have other concerns during the event, please inform a staff member promptly. Reports will be handled confidentially.
The TFA Events team can assist you in contacting venue security or local law enforcement, and they will help ensure your safety throughout the event.
